Bermuda Triangle Mystery Solved?!

You've heard of the Bermuda Triangle, right? If not, it's basically an unidentified region in the Atlantic Ocean where people, ships and planes have disappeared with no trace. Its believed to have claimed more 75 aircrafts and around 300 ships, including the US Cargo ship, Cyclops. No one knows for sure why they've disappeared but a recent theory by Australian scientist, Dr Karl Kruszelnicki says it was all simply down to 'human error'.

Do I believe this? No. Should you? Read some info below and tell me what you think.

One example is on December 5th 1945. Five planes took off from a Naval base in Florida and the plane, along with those 13 people on board were never seen again. The US Navy said they don't know what happened and the mystery is still unexplained to this day.

They took off at 2:10pm on a clear day. Their plan was to head East into the sea for 56 miles. They would then travel towards the Bahamas, turn around and go back North. It was then at around 3:30pm, Captain Charles Taylor sent a message about his compass and how it had just stopped working.

Now back then, GPS wasn’t a thing, so this was a big deal since they didn’t know what direction they were heading in. Capt. Taylor thought he was somewhere over the Florida Keys and was told he could go North towards Miami but only if he was sure of his whereabouts. However, he was complete off course and at 3:45pm, the base received a message from them saying they couldn’t see any land. It was reported that they heard a trainee over the radio saying: ‘Go West’ but he didn’t listen. The sad thing is, that if Taylor did indeed go West, they probably would have been alright.

The student was asked to take over at around 4:45pm because now they were completely lost. Charles Taylor was known for getting lost and at this point it was getting dark and communication was getting very poor.

There were reports of the Ocean looking ‘strange and different’. The weird thing about this was at 7pm, a search party was sent out to try and find them but noting was found. It gets even stranger…the Navy sent out a further two planes to try and search for the people, their bodies or the missing planes. Nothing was found and only ONE plane returned. Freaky, right?

Another example is about a 23-foot long luxury cruise-liner. The owner, Burrack along with his father, Patrick Horn set sail and headed one mile off-shore to park to watch the Christmas lights along the shore. The Coast-guard received a message from them at 9pm saying that they think his boat his something and he thought he had to be towed back. This message wasn’t an SOS and he was pretty calm about it all.

Within 19 minutes, they arrived where the boat should have been but it was gone. They searched for quite a while but on December 28th, they declared the status of the boat ‘Missing but not lost at sea’.

Many believe that Atlantis now lies within the Bermuda Triangle after being swallowed up the by ocean due to a storm or comet. According to Plato, Atlantis was a pretty evolved place than we are now technology wise. Because it now lives under the ocean (or is believed to) the radiation from its technology is what causes an interference with the compasses and GPS’s of some boats and planes. This was thought to date back to 9600BC...but it doesn’t explain why they go missing.

Despite no reports of any bad weather or storms, this is believed to be the main cause of them vanishing with no trace and potentially being dragged under. However, another theory is that within the triangle is MASCONS (Mass Concentrations Of Gravitational Pull). It’s possible that there is a highly concentrated one within the triangle which would explain why ships and planes are being pulled under.
Doctor Who fans might love this but time-travel is another theory! I don’t believe this and don’t think time-travel exists nor will exist no matter how advanced we get. But what do you think?
We have only explored around 5% of our ocean yet it covers around 70% of Earth – that’s pretty insane, so it's possible they sailed to a part we know nothing about. Perhaps they were indeed dragged down some hole deep in the ocean or dragged to another part where thousands of people now live. I don’t believe it’s a supernatural thing like Aliens or UFO's, but I do think it’s not just as simple as ‘human error’.
What do you think happened and what’s your opinion on the whole thing? Comment down below!

  1. Strange that with all the advanced technology this still cannot be solved. I would love to fly over the triangle and see for myself. Yes I am crazy!

    1. Haha! You'd have to live stream it as the world watches - I'm sure one day somebody will solve it and it will probably be human error :D

  2. You know what that is crazy. Only 5%? I think gravitational pull is very likely

  3. I know, right? Shocking percentage! Agreed - it makes sense!

  4. thats surprising that we only know 5% of our ocean. Interesting article ;)

  6. Agreed - totally not supernatural but something isn't right! Hope they solve it soon. Also defos not human error -at least I hope not - Maria x

    1. It would be cool if it was Atlantis and the missing people, ships & planes, etc... are fine and they're living there all safe! But agreed, not supernatural

    2. Strange but a sigh for so many of them. Gets me nervous
